Our direct lithium extraction (DLE) technology was developed to reduce the environmental impact and improve the social cost of extracting lithium from brines. We will always be committed to finding innovative ways to minimize our impact on people and the planet.
Lithium is the critical mineral driving the global energy transition. To support a reliable and sustainable supply chain, it must be sourced responsibly.
Summit Nanotech is committed to producing sustainable and ethical lithium, raising
the bar within the lithium industry through innovation, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.
Our direct lithium extraction (DLE) technology was developed to mitigate the environmental impact and social cost of extracting lithium from brine. We will always be committed to finding innovative ways to minimize our impact on people and the planet.
Collaboration, humility, and honesty with communities where we work are core tenets of our approach to operating.
Our mission is to produce the greenest lithium on the planet to sustainably drive the global energy transition. We believe the adoption of electric vehicles does not have to come at the expense of ecosystems where the raw materials are found.
We prioritize having minimal impact on fresh water and preventing negative impacts on availability by using advanced water recovery and reinjection, when possible, to maintain the aquifer.
We continuously improve our processes to limit our energy use. Especially for lithium projects, which are typically in areas far from energy sources, we aim to reduce impact to the environment.
We avoid creating hundreds of tonnes of waste salts for every tonne of lithium we produce by reinjecting the lithium-depleted brine after extraction.
We will measure our direct and indirect emissions to comprehensively understand our impact and find ways to reduce our emissions footprint in both our operations and DLE process.
We are committed to building long lasting relationships with the communities we are active in and working together to address the environmental and social impacts of lithium extraction with an approach centered around creating shared value.
We promote an inclusive safety culture centered on continuous improvement to protect the wellness of all people working for or with Summit.
We embrace principles and standards outlined in the ILO 169 Convention, UN Sustainable Development Goals, UN Declaration of Human Rights, and the UN Declaration on Rights of Indigenous Peoples. We reject child and forced labour in all forms and are committed to ethically sourcing our materials and labour.
